Demos Gracias al Señor en todo momento.

“Saldrá de ellos canto de acción de gracias ... Jeremías  30:19
Dad gracias en todo, porque esta es la voluntad de Dios para vosotros en Cristo Jesús. 1 Tesalonicenses 5:18

La primera religión que sentó base en Estados Unidos fue la Iglesia Católica, fe traída por los españoles que desembarcaron en Florida y fundaron la ciudad de San Agustín en 1565.  Allí se dio la primera misa de acción de gracias. Era la fiesta del nacimiento de la Virgen María y los españoles tuvieron misa y una fiesta con sus amigos nativos americanos, aunque no es este el día que se conmemora el Día de Dar Gracias o Thanksgiving.

La segunda acción de gracias de América se celebró 30 de abril 1598, cuando el norte de la tierra del Río Grande fue reclamado por Don Juan de Oñate para el rey de España.


Las mismas injusticias que causaron que los peregrinos  salieran de Inglaterra  fueron las mismas que provocaron el martirio de muchos santos católicos en Inglaterra.

"Acción de Gracias" en griego significa Eucaristía.

Salmo. Para la acción de gracias.

1. ¡Aclamad a Yahveh, toda la tierra,

2. servid a Yahveh con alegría, llegaos ante él entre gritos de júbilo!

3. Sabed que Yahveh es Dios, él nos ha hecho y suyos somos, su pueblo y el rebaño de su pasto.

4. ¡Entrad en sus pórticos con acciones de gracias, con alabanzas en sus atrios, dadle gracias, bendecid su nombre!

5. Porque es bueno Yahveh, para siempre su amor, por todas las edades su lealtad. Salmos, 100

Thanksgiving Day Prayer

I’m thankful, Lord – so thankful
You’ve blessed me day by day
Food, shelter, friends and family
You’ve given when I pray

And though I am quite grateful
for these things I hold so dear;
what I really cherish most of all
is Your presence ever near

I may be full or empty
I may be glad or sad
But You’re the constant in my life,
the best blessing I could have

Prayers of Thanksgiving

Since not a moment passes in life in which we do not experience the goodness of God, we owe Him gratitude. Saint Paul instructs us: "In all things give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus regarding you all" (1 Thess. 5:18). Not only should we thank God for the particular benefits received each day, but we should also give thanks for our creation, for our redemption, and for the gift of faith.

Father in Heaven, Creator of all and source of all goodness and love, please look kindly upon us and receive our heartfelt gratitude in this time of giving thanks.

Thank you for all the graces and blessings. You have betowed upon us, spiritual and temporal: our faith and religious heritage. Our food and shelter, our health, the loves we have for one another, our family and friends.

Dear Father, in Your infinite generosity, please grant us continued graces and blessing throughout the coming year.

This we ask in the Name of Jesus, Your Son and our Brother. Amen
